Southern Institute of Technology | Te Pūkenga, is looking for a person who is learner-focused and enthusiastic to fill the above position. A specific aim of the role is to provide pastoral support to enable improved opportunities for success for Māori and Youth Guarantee students.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Sustaining and expanding our supportive learning environment for Ākonga Māori.
- Liaising and collaborating with SIT’s staff to facilitate pastoral care and comprehensive support for Māori students.
- Providing pastoral support and access to education support for Youth Guarantee students.
Ideal skills and experience required:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with an understanding of Te Ao Māori, Tikanga and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principles.
- Ability to build networks, both internally and externally, that foster the learning experience and success of Māori students.
- Either have or be able to build relationships with mana whenua, maata waka and Te Wananga o Aotearoa.
- Competence in Microsoft Suite such as Word, Excel, and database.
- Demonstrable time management skills and administrative reporting skills.
- Demonstrable skills with facilitating hui/events with internal and external stakeholders
