The main role of the Head of School is to provide strong academic leadership. This person is required to lead, manage and develop the school to ensure it achieves its mission and vision. Other roles include the following but not limited to; oversee day to day operations, develop programs for enabling school students and families to meet academic goals, manage staff effectively, offer consistent and compassionate customer service to students, parents and referral sources introduce several strategies to grow the number of students (marketing), etc.
The candidate should:
- have the ability to engage constructively with people
- have excellent communication skills
- have very good ambassadorial and diplomatic skills
- have the ability to manage a number of competing demands
- have excellent delegation skills
- be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances
- be able to develop their skills and seek advice from a variety of sources
- be willing and able to exercise judgement and take risks
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters' Degree is an added advantage
- Adequate years of experience as a class teacher and headteacher
- Demonstrated history of effectiveness in leadership
- Proven experience using the English National curriculum
- Knowledge and experience of the PBL (Project Based Learning) methodology is an added advantage
