As a Wireless Access Planner in the Central Wireless Network Planning & Performance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning of the radio access networks LTE and 5G, small cell, FWA and WPN.
What you will be doing:
- Identify site capacity requirements. Plan, budget and initiate projects to support network evolution and to meet growing subscriber demand
- Develop new site build plan and analyze alternatives in order to recommend the most economical solution to meet departmental and organizational objectives regarding network expansion, subscriber growth and usage patterns
- Produce applicable project specification documents to initiate and synchronize all stakeholders to accomplish in-building system initiatives
- Collaborate with Regional Network Implementation and RF team for support and guidance for site acquisition, lease and design issues. Maintain up-to-date understanding of project status and identify obstacles that have negative impact on project completion targets
- Analyze and identify problematic areas with capacity and coverage issue, propose solutions to senior wireless access planners for new site build and capacity add programs
- Estimate cost and prepare CA for new site build and capacity augmentation projects
- Prepare capacity for event, coordinate with event management and performance monitoring, conduct postmortem study on event performance
- Manage COW deployment for event and temporary site relocations
- Conduct studies for special projects
What you will bring:
- Strong understanding of Wireless Network functionality and elements.
- Full Scope of HSPA/LTE/NR Radio Access
- Strong knowledge of LTE and NR capacity requirements and capacity KPIs
- Strong understanding of the RAN (Radio Access Network) capacity
- Well versed on industry standards, LTE, 5G, Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), Wireless Private Networks (WPN)
- Familiarity with Ericsson radio base station hardware and configuration
- Strong aptitude for research, data analysis and trend development.
- Strong planning and budget skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Planet, MapInfo, Power BI and other mapping and analytics tools
- Microsoft Office suite
- Undergraduate degree with 3-6 years of work experience in a wireless environment
- Education experience should include a post-secondary education, Bachelor of Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering preferably.
- Professional designation is preferable
