Our Profile

We conduct research in the fields of turbulent combustion and its applications in engines, gas turbines and combustors, reaction kinetics, turbulence theory, multiphase flows and electrochemistry with applications to fuel cells. At the institute engines are operated, and measurements are performed on various flow reactors, high pressure combustion chambers and open flames. In addition to research, our institute operates its own drawing office, electrical workshop, and mechanical workshop. Our administration consists of a small team between accounting and secretariat, for which we need support.

Your Profile

  • B1 German desirable
  • Strong enthusiasm for scientific research and interest in hands-on work
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and combustion
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Current studies at a university or university of applied sciences

Your Duties and Responsibilities

  • Laboratory support: Work closely with our experienced scientists to conduct experiments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures
  • Data analysis: Assist us in organizing and processing experimental data, helping to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Collaborative analysis: Collaborate with the research team to analyze and interpret the experimental results, contributing your insights and ideas

What We Offer

The successful candidate will be employed as a student assistant.
The position is to be filled by 10/15/2023 and offered for a fixed term of initially 3 months.
A further employment is planned.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 7-12 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 12,00 € per hour.
