Lecturer: Mobile Application Scripting (Independent Contractor) [South Africa]

The IIE Varsity College, Waterfall Campus has a Lecturer: Mobile Application Scripting (Independent Contractor) vacancy for the School of IT.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Ideal

• 3-year Degree in Computer Science and Information Systems

Alternatively:

• 3-year Diploma with a similarly related field to the third year level

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• Lecturing experience in programming web and mobile applications
• Web development knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience working with any of these frameworks (Angular +, React, Vue)
• Knowledge of the following concepts:
  • Code reusability
  • Maintainability
  • Using functions to organise framework code.
• building user interfaces using native and web-based app development frameworks.
• Implementing logic in applications using scripts.
• Understanding program/application structure.
• Relational and NoSQL database technologies i.e., Firebase, MongoDB, SQLite,
• Git and GitHub
• Work experience as a software developer/ application developer/ mobile programmer/ web developer
• The candidate must have worked within the tertiary institution so that they understand what students will experience of tertiary institutions and what is expected from them.
• The candidate must have a solid understanding of academic skills and how to assist the students to incorporate these skills into their studies.

Working Conditions:

• Availability to lecture Part-time during the week, between 8am – 5pm on campus.
• Provide a student support function through consultations, where necessary.
• Grade all assessments for assigned classes.
• Please note that this is an Independent Contractor role.
