What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and /or skillsets:
- An appropriate academic and professional education qualification from a recognized institution
- 3 years\' experience in a similar position
- COVID19 Vaccination Certificate is essential
- Plan, control, record and report on sport related matters
- Being responsible for the setting up of sport budget and managing these budgets throughout the year
- Arrange for the attendance of meetings, forums, workshops by relevant staff. In exceptional circumstances you may be required to stand in for a staff member at such a meeting.
- Create a climate conducive for participation.
- Oversee the process of managing school equipment and stock.
- Work closely with the teachers in the school to ensure the effective running of all extra murals.
- Manage, plan, assist and promote activities within the school.
- Prepared to assist with sport and other admin duties as and when the need arises.
- Be prepared to fulfil reasonable duties as requested by the two Operational Heads
- Organise all sports events, including tournaments, match games, tours, courses, sports prize giving’s and coaches.
- Assist Learners, Educators, coaches and managers in the arranging of sports psychology and counselling if and when necessary
- Ensure that sports coaching in the various sporting fields during the afternoons and weekend occur.
- Attend matches of various sporting teams where needed for control purposes.
- Liaise with and inform the school’s estate manager regarding the sporting facilities and fields
- Offer direction to the relevant staff in terms of organising coaching and sports courses at school during terms and during holidays.
- Organise sports tours and matches and do quality checks where necessary.
- Handle all correspondence, incoming and outgoing faxes to the relevant sports coaches.
- Be responsible for communicating sports news to parents in the monthly newsletter or on an ad-hoc basis as required.
- Current SACE registration
- A clear criminal record is essential
- Personal commitment to Christian education and a willingness to contribute to the values and ethos of the School is essential.
This is a Permanent position.
