The Getinge Service Division UKI comprises field based Engineers located throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland with responsibility for the service, maintenance and installation of a large range of Medical and Life Science equipment.


Our Portfolio incorporates a broad range of specialist medical devices in the Life Science, Surgical and Medical therapy disciplines, including but not limited to Operating tables, Heart Lung bypass consoles, Intra-Aortic Balloon pumps, Anaesthetic machines, life support Ventilators and steam sterilizers.
Our customers are predominately the Pharmaceutical industry and Public / Private Hospitals.


ROLE:

A Vacancy has arisen for a field service engineer specifically in our Medical Systems Division.
The successful candidate will provide a first class service to our customers, take ownership of tasks assigned and ensure their completion to a high standard of engineering competence within agreed timescales. The work will include but is not limited to
  • Fault resolution.
  • Ongoing preventative maintenance.
  • Installation and commissioning.
  • Liaising with medical, nursing and facilities personnel.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on call rota

Assignments will on occasion, require overnight stays and occasional weekend work.

You will report direct to the Technical service Manager and work closely with other field service engineers and office staff.

The successful candidate will receive extensive technical training at our facilities in UK, France and Germany. In addition, relevant Health & Safety training, Getinge group policies and any other training deemed necessary to carry out your duties would be provided.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be customer focused, technically competent and commercially aware with strong trouble-shooting and analytical skills to enable you to provide an exemplary level of service to our customers.
Your personality, enthusiasm, energy and positivity are essential in building long-term relationships with our customers and will ultimately facilitate you in playing a key role driving our business forward.


Experience.

Previous experience working in a field service role while desirable is not essential. The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of what a field service role entails.


Qualifications.

Candidates must on the latest date for receiving completed application forms hold as a minimum

  • National Council for Educational Awards Diploma in Engineering (Electronic / Mechatronic)
OR
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering qualification at National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), Level 7 or higher, in one of the following engineering disciplines:
Electronic / Electrical
Industrial Instrumentation
Mechatronic
Biomedical Engineering
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • Successful Garda Vetting will be required.

Personal Attributes and Attitudes.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical faultfinding skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • A knowledge of the principles of Health and Safety.
  • Be proficient in the use of IT and basic Microsoft software packages.
  • Full Driving licence required.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Willing to travel, predominately in the Republic of Ireland, occasionally in Northern Ireland and UK and when necessary to training centre’s abroad.
  • Have a strong customer focus with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to provide effective an efficient customer service.
