Scouts Canada has an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager, Learning to Lead Program to join the Commercial Ventures Team. The successful candidate will be part of a team which supports Scouts Canada in developing, executing and evaluating the Learning to Lead pilot program. This program will help build youth leadership skills and confidence and prepare them to take on further leadership roles within the organization and in their local community.
This role will be remote from your home office and can be located anywhere in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Support the creation and development of the Learn to Lead Program
- Ensure the successful delivery of the Learn to Lead Program across various locations with a focus on Manitoba.
- Attend internal and external meetings as required.
- Assist in building the annual budget and project plan.
- Liaise with all associated parties and stakeholders to ensure positive interactions and relationships.
- Ensure successful training, coaching and evaluation of employees.
- Using the Scouting Method and ensuring Scouts Canada values are incorporated, design, execute and evaluate all program elements of the Learn to Lead Pilot Project.
- Ensure programs and activities are safe, fun and age appropriate.
- Ensure the program is compliant with organizational policies, procedures and best practices as well as appropriate legislation, by-laws and policies.
- Continually look for program improvement opportunities for current and future programs to ensure they are aligned with the Canadian Path and Strategic Plan.
- Hire, train and oversee the work of a team of Program Specialists who will mentor youth in Manitoba.
- Design and execute a staff training program for all Program Specialists.
- Build participant surveys to capture participant data and program success / improvement areas.
- Build online training program and cohorts for online participation and follow up to ensure the completion of youth outreach in local communities.
- Oversee the overall design and execution of all program elements of the 8-day and 4 day in-person training sessions as well as all online training elements.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in program creation, delivery, supervision, and evaluation.
- Minimum High School Diploma. College diploma or degree preferred.
- Proven success managing teams.
- Experience Managing Budgets.
- Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both online and in person.
- Experience in the non-profit field and reporting on government grants is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
- Knowledge of Scouts Canada, the Scouting program and its operation is an asset.
Working Conditions
- This position is primarily remote, with some travel required for program delivery and development.
- Traditional working hours with some non-traditional working hours, including evenings and weekends, will be required.
- PRC (Police Record Check) and VSS (Vulnerable Sector Check) are required before the start date.
- Mandatory training requirement.
- This is a term position with a strong possibility for extension.

Salary depends on skills and experience. Starting salary for this role is $67,206.91.
