We are looking for skilled, compassionate and motivated Medical Assistants to support our dynamic team. The remote Medical Assistant supports the clinic and our patients by scheduling tests, patient appointments, referrals, pre-authorizations, and answering patient/family questions.
As a Medical Assistant with Peak Gastroenterology you will:
- Assume a supportive role and have responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family.
- Promote the optimal health, wellbeing and safety of the patient in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the delegation of medical services as defined by State Medical Practice Act.
- Assist with front office duties and scheduling of tests and patient appointments. Responsible for accurate chart documentation and medical record maintenance.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
- One year experience as a Medical Assistant or as an EMT preferred
- Associates who have completed EMT training may be expected to complete required courses on pharmacology within 90 days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant from recognized program preferred
- High School diploma required
- Trade/Technical School, Medical Assisting Preferred
- Trade/Technical School, EMT Training Preferred
