We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in Oslo as a Shipping Equity Research Analyst. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Head of Research and Corporate Finance team, where you quickly will be entrusted with great responsibilities and opportunities. While we are primarily interested in candidates with 0-3 years of experience, we are flexible for the right fit.
What will your main responsibilities include?
- Analyze shipping market fundamentals and companies.
- Create and publish research reports and presentations.
- Develop and refine our modeling tools.
- Communicate with investors, corporate clients, journalists, and other stakeholders.
- Support our Corporate Finance team.
- Travel as required.
Which qualifications and skills should you possess for this position?
The successful candidate is nearing completion or holds a relevant degree (MSc, PhD, or similar) in finance/economics with very strong academic credentials. We also believe that to succeed in this role you should be able to demonstrate most, if not all, of the following:
- Strong analytical skills.
- Familiarity with the main optimization and econometric techniques used in economics and finance.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particulary Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent English language skills.
- The capacity to work both independently and in teams.
- The ability to manage high workloads and adapt swiftly to unforeseen events.
- A commercial mindset and genuine interest in equities and capital markets.
- Programming and/or machine learning skills are a plus.
