Our Auckland branch currently has opportunities available for entry level roles on the port.
Entry level roles working as General Duties Wharf Hands give you a chance to get a “foot in the door” towards a career on the port. Full training is provided, so no experience is necessary, however we do require people who are keen and motivated to learn. You need to be physically fit as some of the duties involve handling equipment that can weigh up to 25kgs. You could be working on the wharf or working on board vessels – no two days are the same!
This opportunity could be a step into a new career at the port, which is an essential service for NZ trade. As vessels can arrive at any time of the day or night flexibility to work a variety of shifts over a 24/7 week is a requirement. Working outside in all weathers is also part of both roles, so you need to be comfortable in an outdoor environment.
